Ladies In Waiting

Becoming beautiful from the inside out...

My idea of a perfect Saturday afternoon...

So the only things missing in this picture would be...sand and sea. :) (Okay and maybe one more thing but we'll leave that alone!)

What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than swinging in the breeze in a hammock and drinking a cold Coca Cola? The children playing and running around. The smell of chicken cooking on the grill. The laughter of the aunts and uncles.

While the the reason for the trip to my homeland (lol) might not be the one that I would have chosen, it doesn't mean that I am not enjoying myself. We flew in on Thursday and attended the wake for my late grandfather. And as is normally the case for events such as these, I met some family for the first time and saw others that I haven't seen in a while. The funeral was yesterday. Needless to say, I'm glad it's over. It was very hard but I know that God gives us the grace to go on. The hardest part was the realization that my grandfather will never meet the man that I will call Husband and will never hold my children. He loved babies and it hurts to know he will never know mine. But once again, God's grace will be enough to get me through.

So with the funeral over, I slept in this morning and have done very little all day. I am so not complaining about this. lol And I am looking forward to my coming week off from work! This coming week was scheduled to be a vacation week from my job so thankfully, I don't have to make the trip home anytime soon.

Well, my friends, that's the update so far. I've had countless Coca-Colas, breakfast tacos, tamales (twice) and sweet bread. I am not looking forward to losing the weight I will have gained! Until next time!
